I recently purchased this yo-yo because I was just going through an assortment of yo-yos to see which one I like best. The Yomega Rev-Rim ranks right up there with the best of them. It sleeps beautifully, so it’s good for complicated string trick. It doesn’t seem bother it, having multiple string in the gap at the same time. It loops like a pro. I was never really that good on looping, but this yo-yo really makes it seem easy. It’s got a neat shape, though it is kind of narrow and hard to catch on the string for tricks such as, “Man on the Flying Trapeze.” Like I said the sleep times are incredible on this thing, mainly because of the rim weighted design and ball bearings. And for about 20 bucks on YoYoPlay it’s not a bad buy either.

I just purchased a Rev Rim. Right out of the box it feels different, hard to explain but I liked it. It feels good in your hand. Supposedly designed for looping… I always thought fixed axles were for looping, but in all honestly the body design in my opinion IS great for looping, and as long as you don’t “stall” the yo at the end of the string it does loop well. I did notice it is a bit harder to catch on the string (ie: Man on Trapeze) than some of the other yos I have. The string gap is IDENTICAL to that of a Raider or RB2, but the increased difficulty in catching the Rev Rim comes from the (side’s) design. The inside “corner” (leading into the string gap) is more “squared off” than most yos, especially other Yomegas which are round-edged. You can basically catch a Raider from almost the middle of one side and the yo will slide onto the string, not with the Rev Rim. That’s the difference. And there are rubber rings around the edges, so if the string hits those the yo slows down…dramatically. But on to the good stuff… It IS a good sleeper. With a little “getting used to it” you can land it on the string just fine, and it handles string tricks well. The weight is great, about 56.9g (compared to a Raider at about 53.7g). When doing string tricks you do have to be sure to keep it in ONE plane (during rotations) because of middle-design-weight it is more apt to “lean” than other yos. I have been using mine for about two or three days, and after having gotten used to a slightly different design, I honestly think it’s a great yo. Maybe for a little more advanced user, but you can certainly “sling” this yo around better than most (especially among ball bearing yos) it “keeps it’s spin” very nicely.

Rev-Rim…Rev-rim is a great yo-yo for me. I recently got this GREAT powerful yo-yo. It sleeps for a long period of time, but when it comes back it kind of hirts. I am a beginner, I bought this baby on 4/15/02. This yo-yo, i like very much becasue it has rubber rims (kind of says it on the name). I bought this at Yomega.com because it was 5 bucks cheaper. If you like a skinny yo-yo this yo-yo is the yo-yo for you. I usally don’t name yo-yos but this yo-yo was so cool i named it the “HARDBALL” because it comes up hard. Me, for a beginner i am good (just my arm is broken). Even with the broken arm i can do +14 “around the worlds.” This yo-yo sleeps for a long time. I think it sleeps longer than a raider or a wing force. Take my advice, for $20.00 this yo-yo is worth it. Rev-Rim is my buddy for my fingers. Even if it hurts a bit i still play it every day every night, thats how great it is. Once again buy this yo-yo! I will never give this yo-yo away.

This is a good yoyo for learning tricks but if you buy it for performance I would not recomend it. If you are a beginner i would suggest you buy it. It was the first roller bearing yo I have. Since I was a beginner I thought it was pretty good but now that I have gotten a whole lot better I don’t use it at all.

what can i tell you, i like the rev-g so much i own 3 of them. its large and light (but then so is my henry viper) so it’ll take a bit to get used to it.loops okay (im not a good looper) - its size makes it more difficult with some of the string tricks. but it does have a definite “wow” factor.
